Abstract

Speech is a complex process that involves a coordinated effort of several organs in the body. The organs of speech work together to produce the sounds that we use to communicate with each other. These organs include the lungs, larynx, pharynx, oral cavity, and nasal cavity. The lungs provide the power for speech by exhaling air. The larynx, or voice box, contains the vocal cords, which vibrate to produce sound. The pharynx, or throat, helps to shape and amplify the sound. The oral cavity, or mouth, is responsible for articulating the sounds, which means changing the shape of the mouth to produce different sounds. The nasal cavity helps to produce nasal sounds. The way that the organs of speech work together is very intricate and precise. Even small changes in the position of the tongue or lips can produce a different sound. This is why it is so difficult to learn to speak a new language.
