Abstract. Based on the literature data, the issue of the timing and scope of surgical
intervention remains under discussion. The key focus of the surgical technique is to
restore the integrity and function of the damaged bone surgically, regardless of whether
the injury is isolated or combined. The timing and scope of surgical treatment are still
debatable. One of the important factors that can affect the healing of a mandibular
fracture is the development of infectious and inflammatory complications in the post-
traumatic period.
